History of NPL

Nepal premier league is upcoming Frenchies league of Nepal which is based on T20 cricket format. Nepal premier league is organized by the Cricket Association Of Nepal (CAN). NPL first or inaugural season is set to be Start from November 30 to December 21 ,2024. In this particular tournament 8 team will participate which represents the eighth major cities of Nepal .CAN has announced to going start of the Nepal premier league NPL in first month of 2024.

The logo of Nepal Premier League (NPL) reflect the spirit and heritage of Nepal.The logo represents the iconic gourkhali Khukuri with a cricket bat, which symbol the bravery of the  Gurkha's and the essence of nepali cricket. It also feature the sun and the moon from Nepalese national flag which represents the ambition to raise Nepal cricket globally.The logo design is inspired by Mt.Everst, Which tells us that to reach Nepalese cricket new heights in the global cricketing country.

CAN has announced 8 team will be participate in Nepal Premier League which represents the major cities of Nepal.CAN has sold the eight franchise teams for the Nepal Premier League (NPL) through a bidding process at NRS 16,88,93,231.

Following Eighth team Will be participate in Nepal Premier League (NPL).

CAN has sold the eighth franchise team through bidding on 5 September, 2024.The Pokhara team is brought in highest price which is NPR 3,57,00,000 in history of NPL. Kathmandu team is brought in second highest price at NPR 3,33,33,339. Janakpur team is brought in third highest price which is NPR 2,05,00,000. Lumbini is brought at NPR 1,86,00,000 with fourth highest price. Chitwan team is brought at NPR 1,73,01,000 with fifth highest price followed by the team Sudurpashchim at NPR 1,68,88,888 with sixth highest price. Biratnagar team is brought in seventh highest price at NPR 1,52,00,000. Karnali team is brought in lowest bid which is NPR 1,22,60,000.

Home players are choosing through auction by each teams and Foreign players are directly signed by the teams.

Marquees player for the each team is chosing through lucky draw. On September 14, 2024 Marquees player are choosing through lucky draw. Each Marquees player will get NPR 20,00,000 form their respective team.
